Kevin Spacey’s Friend, Brian Cox Defends Him Amidst New Charges

Kevin Spacey's Friend Defends Him Amidst New ChargesHollywood has simply moved on from one Kevin Spacey, and unfortunately, nothing Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone has said or will say can change it.

Well, Brian Cox is entering the chat to tell us that Kevin Spacey is one of the best pals, not to add boss, a guy can have. Cox’s statements come as another alleged victim sued Spacey in a UK court.

Brian Cox Denies Kevin Spacey Is Abusive

In 2017, a series of sexual harassment accusations speedily sank Spacey’s Hollywood career. In 2023, after the court found him not guilty of these allegations, he tried to get his life and career back. Well, I’d say that he succeeded in getting one of those things back.

In some of his interviews, Spacey did admit to doing somethings he’s not proud of – probably even getting a bit handsy – but he’s past that now and has asked the public and Hollywood – Hollywood, specifically – for redemption.

There was this woe is me story about the legal fees driving him to bankruptcy to the extent he’s tethering on the edge of losing his home. And now another sexual harassment claim is coming up? Luckily for him, Cox is attempting to run to his rescue.

“Kevin is an old friend of mine. All right, Kevin did certain things…We all used to worry about Kevin. But at the same time, you don’t destroy a man’s career because of what he’s…He also did a lot of extraordinary work. And I find that really petty, and I just don’t like it. It’s sneaky and petty and not right,” Cox said.

Brian Cox Questions Society’s Morality in Cancelling People Based On Perceptions

Cox isn’t dismissing that society is full of weirdos who feel like they’re above certain rules and can behave however they like and want, but even at that, he’s still not warmed up to the idea of cancelling someone.

“We live in a free society, so people are allowed to be who they are, and they sometimes push their luck, particularly in the sexual area of life. Not everybody is abusive. I’ve never found Kevin Spacey abusive. He was misguided, certainly, in terms of his sexuality, but that’s to do with him coming to terms with his own sexuality and how he’s dealt with that and the dilemma that it’s caused in his life.”

He added: “And I think that one is to try to understand where he’s coming from and what that’s about. We’ve got to an age now where people are going, ‘Oh, that’s bad, he’s out, boom, he’s cancelled.’ What do you mean ‘cancelled’? How dare you cancel anybody?” he asked.

Speaking of cancelling, over a dozen people have come forward to accuse Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment at the height of the 2017 #metoo movement.

Amid the allegations, Netflix discontinued his show ‘House of Cards.’ His agent and publicist dropped him, and in an even more heartbreaking move, his scenes were removed from the movie ‘All the Money in the World,’ even though he’d already shot them.
