Kim Kardashian has faced controversy many times over her various brands. For instance, when the reality TV star named her shapewear line Kimono, she got slammed for cultural appropriation. Kim finally renamed those products.

Kim Kardashian – Unveils New Beauty Brand SKKN

Keeping up with the Kardashians means keeping up with all the reality TV family’s controversy. And for Kim Kardashian, that involves her new beauty brand name. Some followers have accused Kim of allegedly “stealing” her new skincare line’s name of SKKN from entrepreneur and model Lori Harvey, reported the Sun.

But Kardashian ignored all the negatives to unveil her new skincare line SKKN. “I’m excited to finally introduce to you SKKN BY KIM, a rejuvenating nine-product skincare ritual that I have developed from start to finish,” wrote Kim on social media. “I’ve been so privileged to learn about skin and skincare over the years from the world’s top dermatologists and estheticians.” And Kardashian continued to issue promises of what the brand will offer. 

Reflecting on her new brand, Kim described what it offers. “And every bottle from my new line is filled with the knowledge I’ve accumulated along the way,” gushed Kardashian. “You will experience refillable packaging, and clean, science-backed ingredients designed to nourish all skin types, tones, and textures at all stages of maturity. I created this line so that everyone can feel confident in their skin, and I can’t wait to finally be able to share it with you!”

However, fans couldn’t wait to comment on the similarities between Kim’s line and Lori Harvey’s. After Kardashian wrote, “SKKN BY KIM is launching on June 21 at 9a PT / 12p ET exclusively on SKKNBYKIM.COM,” fans questioned the parallels with Lori’s products. The 25-year-old model and entrepreneur, who is comedian Steve Harvey’s daughter, previously unveiled her own beauty line, SKN by LH. Similar to Kim’s, Lori’s skincare products feature five steps and include toners, cleansers, and  Vitamin C serum.

But Kim’s announcement resulted in a flood of criticism. Turning to Twitter, fans asked about the similarities. For instance, one posted, “SKKN by Kim?? What happened to SKN by Lori Harvey???”

And another chimed in, “Note: The name is a little too close to Lori Harvey’s Skincare brand to me. SKN by LH vs. SKKN by Kim — I don’t like that.” Some also questioned why Kim chose a name so similar to Lori’s brand. “SKKN by Kim Kardashian. SKN by Lori Harvey. She couldn’t find another name?” asked one fan.
