Early last year, on February 24, 2021, Lady Gaga’s dog walker and friend Ryan Fischer, was shot, while walking Lady Gaga’s three dogs in Los Angeles.
It was reported that of Lady Gaga’s three French bulldogs Gustav, Koji, and Asia, Asia escaped while Gustav and Koji were dognapped. Fischer the dog walker had to spend several days in the hospital and was released in late March. He returned to the hospital to surgically repair his lung which was shattered severely by the shooting.
Two days later, on February 26, the two dogs were found and sent back to Lady Gaga. The LAPD said that a person had dropped off the dogs at a local police station. However, Detectives do not believe the suspects were targeting the victim because of the dogs’ owner. However, according to police, evidence suggests the suspects knew the great value of the breed of dogs and was the motivation for the robbery.
Lady Gaga – Dog Walker Shooting Saga – Fischer Opens Up About Trauma Amid Shooting
Fischer, while recalling the traumatizing night he was shot, opened up to CBS Mornings’ Gayle King in an interview saying “It was a severe one shot, and when I went back, because I had to go back to the hospital a second time to have the surgery because my lung had collapsed, the people in the ER who I’d seen that night told me that they didn’t think I was gonna survive that night,” he said. “And I had felt that, because I was very awake during, while they were operating on me that night. But just to hear them say it, it was, it makes it more real.”
Gayle King noted of Fischer, “He’s been through a lot, guys. … He’s been through a lot of trauma and a lot of drama. He really is on a healing journey. We’ve been trying to talk to him for a very long time and he hasn’t been ready to talk, really, until now.”
Sometime in August, Fisher opened a Go-Fund-Me account to raise $40,000 to enable him to go on a spiritual cross-country road trip he had undertaken to recover emotionally and physically. However, the campaign raised a lot of dust as people began criticizing Fischer for asking for financial aid, and Fischer’s former employee Lady Gaga for not supporting him after the incident.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Fischer explained that his intentions aren’t what the people thought, he said he’s on good terms with his former employees and he loves them, “It’s what happens in trauma — all your loved ones, all your family, everyone: you feel alone. You don’t feel supported because this is your journey,” he said. “I tried so hard. I tried to navigate that. I really did think about the wording. I have nothing but gratitude for everything,” he added. “It’s just a weird situation just because of how it’s evolved in the media. But I’m very grateful for my friendships. I received so much support, and I’m so grateful. I have nothing but gratitude in my heart for the care that I received and the support I received. Most [victims] of crime do not get that and I did, and I’m very grateful for that.”
Later on, Fischer took to his Instagram to thank Gayle King for the interview and also announce that the money has been raised.
“So looking forward to getting back on the road soon and making bizarre videos in strange spots, exploring spirituality, healing through trauma, and continuing on this journey…. Because the money has been raised!!!!” he wrote. “I can’t express my gratitude enough for everyone’s support through all the highs and lows and for the gofundme. Everyday I get a little choked up and humbled by your love🙏🏼🥲. Now onward to sharing in the adventure and getting that van!!!!! And if it’s your birthday, well a very very happy birthday to you 😉😘.”

Lady Gaga Dog – Walker Shooting Saga – Suspect Released Mistakenly
One of the men suspected of being involved in the shooting and robbery of Lady Gaga’s dog walker has mistakenly been released from jail, and now authorities are searching for him.
In a statement to ET, a spokesperson for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department says the department is investigating the inadvertent release from custody of James Howard Jackson. The spokesperson added, “Mr. Jackson was in custody for attempted murder in connection with the shooting of Lady Gaga’s dog walker and the theft of two of the singer’s French Bulldogs which occurred on February 25, 2021.”
Furthermore, the spokesperson says Jackson, who attended court on Tuesday, was released from custody on Wednesday “due to a clerical error.” a spokesperson for the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office tells ET, “Mr. Jackson was arraigned on a superseding indictment filed in court under a new case number. The old case was then dismissed by a judge as required by law.”
The department’s spokesperson said its Major Crimes Bureau “is actively working to get Mr. Jackson back in custody.” The department also released a booking photo of Jackson, which shows an identifiable tattoo on his neck.
