Lamar Odom Did A Bit Of Comparison With His Exes

He dated one and married the other. If I didn’t know better, I’ll say this is because he loved one more than the other but clearly, that’s not the case here…or is it?

Lamar Odom, 42, replied when asked by Page Six who he would like to get back together with between his two exes Taraji P. Henson, 52, and Khloe Kardashian, 38, that he would go back to Taraji “Because I love Taraji. It’s a love thing. It’s about who you love,” he said.

The thing is, Lamar met both Taraji and Khloe in 2009, he was dating Taraji when he met Khloe. Not too long he dumped Taraji and married Khloe that same year. His marriage with Khloe lasted for seven years, they split in the year 2013 due to Lamar’s alleged infidelity and constant substance abuse.

It took them three years later to be legally divorced. Actually, during the period they were pursuing their divorce, Lamar had a near-fatal overdose in a Nevada brothel and Khloe had to pause the divorce from proceeding so she could take care of Lamar till he got better, after which she divorced him in 2016.

Now, coming to the reason why Lamar chose Taraji over Khloe, Lamar explained that Taraji happened to be cool and that the difference between the two women had to do with their upbringing.

“Taraji is a cool girl. Matter of fact, she’s here [in L.A.]. I got to see her at the BET Awards in June. So maybe I’ll get to shoot my shot at her again,” he said. “I think the difference between Taraji and Khloe is how they [were] brought up. Their upbringing, which makes people different and [affects] the way they think. I think Taraji is more skillful in what she does as an actress compared to what Khloé does.” Lamar did say that Khloé was “a great wife.”

It was during the infamous Oscar slap that Lamar finally got to speak about the failure of his marriage.

We all remember the incident that took place at this year’s Oscars right?, where Will Smith had to issue a giveaway slap to Chris Rock for making a joke out of his wife’s hair. Yeah, Lamar happened to be aware of what went on that day and he defined that incident as an act of love for his wife.

“He loves his wife,” wrote LO. “I do not condone violence against anyone. [Will] loves [Jada Pinkett-Smith]. I was told love covers a multitude of sins. I see everyone arguing the merits of this altercation, taking sides, [and] dragging them both to hell when it all boils down to love. He loves his wife. She was hurting, [and] it is a husband’s responsibility to protect his wife.”

Recalling how his marriage ended with Khloe, Lamar said “Had I protected my wife versus mentally, emotionally, and spiritually hurting her, I may still be married,” at this point, Lamar was trying to link the scene to that of his marriage and expressed his regret for not doing things differently.

“Let’s use this as a teaching moment, let’s learn to set boundaries, let’s learn to be humble, let’s learn to embrace and forgive each other in the midst of our trials and tribulations versus sitting on a throne of judgment” he concluded.
