Last week on Wednesday, Liam Payne, formerly a member of the One Direction boyband passed away in Argentina. Since then, an autopsy was conducted and reports reveal that he had taken a drug known as “pink cocaine.” Read on to find out more about it.
Liam Payne Died After Falling Off A 3rd Floor Balcony
When the news arrived that the 31-year-old musician had died, reports from Argentine noted that he fell off a balcony on the third floor. Apparently, EMTs could do nothing to help him as he was badly injured. Many sad fans noted that not long before his death the former X-Factor contestant had seemed happy on social media.
Plenty of tributes poured in for Liam Payne from other members of One Direction, music sales giants, and his many fans. Simon Cowell, who discovered Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam also penned a tribute and said he felt “devastated” and “heartbroken.” But like others, he probably wondered what happened before the fall.
Pink Cocaine Found During Autopsy
InTouch Weekly reported that subsequent results from the “autopsy” revealed the presence of “pink cocaine.” The outlet’s research revealed some interesting facts about it as it’s not actually “cocaine.” However, that doesn’t mean that it’s harmless.
Liam Payne could have taken a cocktail of things in his “pink cocaine.” Citing the National Capital Poison Center, the outlet noted that the drug is also known as “tusi,” and “typically includes ecstasy, ketamine, caffeine, and a psychedelic drug known as 2-C.”
Furthermore, it’s possible that the former X-Factor contestant could have consumed other additives. The report noted:
…pink cocaine may be contaminated with drugs beyond those mentioned here, so unanticipated effects can occur depending on what is in the mixture. For example, opioids, bath salts and hallucinogens have also been found in pink cocaine samples.
One Direction fans should also know that Liam Payne could have experienced side effects from the drug. They could have included “heart problems, increased risk of stroke, and behavioral changes.”
Fans React To The Drug News
On Reddit, it seems that some fans of One Direction have a good understanding of the cocktail. U/Thedirtypenny explained in part:
[Pink cocaine] is typically an…amalgamation of Benadryl, meth, lsd, ketamine, and whatever else…can add to the mix. It typically gets its color from the other analogs added…and harsh dyes….dealers will…mix all the aforementioned drugs into a powder. So if you see “pink cocaine” it’s not a designer drug…It’s literally all of the worst drugs mixed together, and…it’s mixed very imprecisely.
Other comments arrived:
- I’m in Colombia and so many people use it, crazy knowing that it’s basically a mix of 5 random hard drugs. Street parties, clubs, football games, you see it everywhere.
- There was a photo going around of a table full of drugs in his hotel room.
- So he was just taking whatever he could get his hands on? Thats about as bad as addiction gets.
