Hollywood news and updates tease that Lisa Kudrow opened up about her uncertainty with her body during the filming of “Friends.”
“Friends” is one of the most beloved American sitcoms that even if it ended 18 years ago, a lot of people today still stream it on different online platforms. It was all about six people, played by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry, who lived together in an apartment in New York and were constantly there for each other, especially during life crises.
Last May 2021, the iconic characters reunited for an HBO special titled “Friends: The Reunion,” where they talked about their experiences and their favorite memories when they filmed the ten-year series.
Lisa Kudrow – Learns To Accept Her Body Type
Lisa Kudrow was one of the most beloved characters when she portrayed Phoebe Buffay in a 1994’s sitcom. However, despite the love she received from the viewers, Kudrow experienced body insecurities in the show, especially during costume fittings.
“Seeing myself on the show and seeing myself in clothes and seeing Courteney and Jennifer, I thought, ‘Oh, they know tailoring so they can discuss it with the costume designer about where exactly to take it in,’” she uttered during her appearance on the Podcrushed podcast.
She also mentioned that she asked her costars to accompany her during fittings, but it didn’t change the way felt about her body. Kudrow then realized that it was not about the tailoring but it’s the shape of her body. However, when she reached her early 40s, the actress learned to accept her body and she mentioned that all those insecurities are just “in your own head.”
Lisa Kudrow – Shares Her Audition Process on ‘Friends’
In other news, Lisa Kudrow shared her discovery regarding her auditions as Phoebe Buffay on the sitcom “Friends.” In her recent interview on the Today show, the 58-year-old star shared her early experiences as an actress. She also mentioned the unpleasant moment she faced when she auditioned for “The Landers Show” in the 1990s.

Other than that, Kudrow revealed that she’s the only cast who has to audition twice for a role in the iconic sitcom. “I didn’t even realize until recently that I had a special audition for Jim Burrows because he was directing it, and I assumed all actors did,” Kudrow said.
“Then, I found out – like, I don’t know, four years ago – I was the only one. I found out that I was the only one who had to audition for him,” she continued.
