Lizzo recently took to TikTok that she’s not working out everyday to “escape fatness,” but because she wants to simply maintain a healthy lifestyle. Plus, it makes her feel good and that’s what counts the most.

After posting someone else’s TikTok, Lizzo said, “I just wanted to stitch this to show support to you because this creator, specifically, said, I’m looking for people that I can resonate with. I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they’re doing is to be thin.”

The ‘Truth Hurts’ singer continued, “I’m not trying to be thin. I don’t ever want to be thin. Yes, I’m used to fluctuating. As I got more professional in my career, I started to take the physical part more seriously. I’ve always loved moving my body, I’ve always loved working out. I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they are doing is trying to be thin.”

Lizzo Is Working Out For Her Mental Health

Lizzo then went on to explain that her fitness journey is more about mental health than it is for physical health, although she does get to enjoy the benefits from both. Lizzo is one of the most self-confident celebrities on social media, as she often loves to share photos and video of her body, regardless of what her critics have to say about it.

She said, “Exercise has helped me shift my mind, not my body. My body is going to change, everyone’s bodies change. That’s life. Everything I eat, everything I do, every time I move my body, it’s all for my mental health. If this ain’t happy, none of this is happy.”
