Former When Calls the Heart star Lori Loughlin has kept a low profile since her release from prison in the college admissions scandal. However, the former Hallmark Channel star has finally gone public by walking the red carpet on Saturday at a benefit in Los Angeles.

Lori Loughlin formerly starred in the series Full House and much later, had a role in the Hallmark series When Calls the Heart. However, after she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were found guilty in the college admissions scandal, she has kept reasonably quiet.

While the actress has kept a low profile, it looks like she is coming out of the woodwork. She was captured on camera, walking the red carpet at the DesignCare 2022 Gala in Los Angeles. The event was to benefit the HollyRod Foundation for families affected by autism and Parkinson’s disease.

As noted by People, Loughlin was all smiles as she walked her first red carpet since the scandal broke in March 2019. Meanwhile, she was seen to be wearing a long-sleeved blue dress for the occasion, while carrying a silver clutch and wearing a pair of matching strapped silver heels.

Lori Loughlin – College Admissions Scandal

It was in March 2019 that Loughlin and Giannulli were arrested for attempting to bribe the high-education admissions process. The couple paid $500,000 in a bribe to have their daughters, Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli, accepted to the University of Southern California. They were said to be crew athletes, even though neither participated in the sport.

Loughlin received two months in jail, a $150,000 fine, and 150 hours of community service. Meanwhile, Giannulli, 59, received a sentence of five months in jail, a $250,000 fine, and 250 hours of community service. Loughlin was released in December 2020 after serving her two-month sentence.

Meanwhile, since her release from jail, Loughlin made her return to TV in the When Calls the Heart spinoff When Hope Calls on GAC Family.

More recently, the actress attended the private funeral of her Full House co-star, Bob Saget in January. Loughlin also appeared on Instagram Live this month to promote the Netflix Comedy Store tribute to the late comedian. She joined former Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure in mourning Saget, who died in his sleep in his hotel room while on a comedy tour.
