Spice Girls celebrated their 25th anniversary this year with the release of a brand new single in a limited edition vinyl and cassette. For the first time in so many years, fans got to hear a record with all members of the group performing.
Mel B Predicts A Spice Girls’ Reunion Upcoming
The Spice Girls could possibly have another reunion tour to add to their impressive career that already includes being one of the most successful girl groups from the U.K.
In June, to celebrate Wannabe25, the group released a song that was the first new track from the group, comprised of Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), in 14 years.
Mel, whose full name is Melanie Brown, has confirmed that she will definitely be trying her best and pushing to make sure that the iconic girl group graces the stage again in 2023.
She made the announcement on Friday, September 10, while presenting Mel B’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4 as part of the channel’s Black To Front project. The project saw the talent of Black presenters, actors, writers and contributors highlighted through the channel’s programming.
While making her first live presenting premiere, Mel was asked by football pundit Chris Kamara and a member of the audience whether there was hope in the foreseeable future of the Spice Girls getting back together for another grand tour. The last time the Spice Girls toured together was in 2019, but the group was sadly missing Posh Spice (aka fashion icon Victoria Beckham). But this time round, Mel B was able to provide some exciting news for the fans.
“We did our last tour and Victoria respectfully ducked out, and you have to respect when someone doesn’t want to go on tour,” she said. “I’m always pushing to have a Spice Girls reunion and we were in talks last year but then COVID hit so it pushed everybody’s plans.”
“I think we’re hopefully on the same page together. They’re going to kill me for saying this! We’re hoping, especially me – if it has anything to do with me, which it will have ’cause I’m the driving force and will make sure it happens – to tour in 2023!”
None of the other group members have commented on Mel’s assertion, but that didn’t stop fans from getting excited.

New Names For The Spice Girls
The singer also further shared some new nicknames for all the members of the band, including her own.
“Victoria has a crazy sense of humour, so she’d be Sarky Spice, as in sarcastic,” Mel shared. “Baby Spice is actually quite a raunchy sassy-pants, so she’d definitely be Lustful Spice.”
“Melanie is a perfectionist, so it’s Perfect Spice. Geri, where do I start? Stop-wearing-white-and-wear-the-union-jack Spice. And me? I’d be Fabulous Spice!”
It might be a welcome change for Victoria, who shared last year that the “Posh” Spice nickname was certainly not something that she would have chosen for herself as a first choice. She also added at the time that she “ultimately grew into it on my own terms”.
