Nolan Neal Dead at 41, Former 'AGT' & 'The Voice' ContestantCelebrity news reveals that Nolan Neal, a talented singer and musician who featured on both talent shows “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice,” has died. He was 41.According to the medical examiner Nolan passed away Monday, July 18. Nolan’s cousin Dylan Seals told TMZ that his relative was found dead in his apartment in Nashville, Tennessee.

On Tuesday police officials reported that Neal’s roommate, “called them after discovering his body in a bedroom.” Law enforcement sources said that, “on the desk next to Neal’s bed was a guitar pick that appeared to contain a powder residue.” Neal allegedly struggled with substance abuse and at this time investigators are waiting to receive the full results from the singer’s autopsy.

Nolan appeared on season 15 of “AGT.” During his time on the competition show he lasted until the quarterfinals. For that round he sang a moving and poignant original piece, “Send Me a Butterfly.”

Nolan Neal Died In Tennessee

For his audition Nolan sang an original song titled “Lost.” His performance received a standing ovation from the crowd as well as from all 4 judges. Nolan shared with those present that the ballad was the first song he wrote after getting sober.

Nolan chose to also try out for season 10 of “The Voice.” He was chosen to be on Adam Levine’s team, and this time out he moved past the quarterfinals all the way to the finals. He did not win the round but he impressed the judges and the audience alike with his heartfelt performance.

Cause of Death Unknown

Nolan’s cousin Dylan Seals told People that the singer, “ultimately succumbed to his battle with substance abuse.”

Nolan was based in Nashville. Seals, who is an audio engineer, added that Nolan was, “one of the most talented people, “working in the entertainment industry. He was a natural-born entertainer and it was obvious to all of us from an early age. He blew us all away with his incredibly powerful vocal delivery and songwriting,” Seals, told People.

Seals went on to say of his cousin, “Working with him in the studio was awe-inspiring. The speed at which he could write arrange and record the basics of a track was legendary. He was pure creative energy. He put everything he had in the music. He sang from deep within his soul. Upon reflection this morning, it was likely his tortured soul crying out. Music was life or death for him. It was everything.”
