Jennifer Lopez pushed Ben Affleck to elope because she worried he would opt out, an insider told Page Six. But the source also shared that one of Ben’s children DID deliberately miss the ceremony. The insider spilled in the wake of Lopez’s and Affleck’s surprise elopement to Las Vegas.

And Jennifer herself shared some of the wedding details in her newsletter, On The JLo. Lopez reportedly penned her letter to fans after dining on pizza and diet Coke on their private jet back to Los Angeles. And she claimed that she and her new husband happily welcomed their children to join them at the drive-through wedding chapel. After the wedding, Jennifer shared her excitement on Twitter. And she posted a video in which she danced happily, tweeting, “Monday mood!”

However, the insider spilled a different tale. And the source claimed that only Lopez’s child, Emme, 14, and Affleck’s youngster Serafina, 13, attended. But in all, the newlyweds now co-parent five children. Emme has a twin brother, Max. And Affleck shares Violet, 16, and Sam, 10, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. But only one of the five reportedly insisted on avoiding Ben’s wedding to Lopez. 

Jennifer Garner Knew About Ben Affleck Wedding Before Elopement!

As a result of Affleck’s closeness to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, many wondered if she knew about the elopement before hand. Garner reportedly got spotted enjoying the weekend sun in Lake Tahoe. But the insider revealed that Ben’s ex-wife did know.

“Ben did tell Jen about the wedding,” revealed the source. “But I’m told that it was only Friday at the earliest.” And calling the wedding ceremony “very, very minimally planned in advance,” the insider dubbed the elopement “largely spur-of-the-moment.” However, Affleck’s daughter Violet reportedly declined to attend.

Violet “stayed home because she’s extremely loyal to her mom [Jennifer Garner],” shared another insider. And Violet reportedly chose to show her loyalty to her mother rather than her father by skipping his wedding. Garner, 50, and Affleck, 49, tied the knot in 2005 before splitting in 2018. However, Jennifer has remained silent about her ex-husband’s various romances since the divorce. 

As for exactly why Lopez wanted to elope rather than stage a big wedding? As a result of her desire to move quickly, Jennifer pushed for an elopement, explained the insider. “[Lopez] has been ready to get married since the night that Ben proposed. She wanted to lock this down and remove any chance for cold feet ASAP!” noted the insider.
