Pamela Anderson Reveals The Real Reason Behind Her Viral Makeup-Free Moment

Last year, the “Home Improvement” actress Pamela Anderson melted many hearts with her makeup-free face at the Paris Fashion Week which took place on September 28, 2023.

Pictures of Pamela modeling her bare face in the midst of other A-list stars like Victoria Beckham, Isabel Marant, and Vivienne Westwood, and somehow her bravery got her lots of applause.

Even Jamie Lee Curtis shared photos of the “Baywatch” star on Instagram the following month with the caption, “THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN! @pamelaanderson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures.”

The following month, in October, Pamela shared with “Vogue France” what made her decide to appear at the event with her bare face. “I don’t know, something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, ‘I don’t want to compete with the clothes.'”

She went on to add, “I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it’s just freedom. It’s a release. I don’t need a stylist. I don’t have a stylist, I don’t have a glam team. I’m just kind of doing this, freestyle.”

After garnering praises from not just fellow stars but also fans at large, the following year, in January 2024, the 56-year-old announced her skincare deal with Sonsie, and her fans couldn’t help their disappointment especially since the move somehow speaks of indirect PR.

In a recent interview with “Allure,” which was published on February 8, the star of “Naked Souls” set the record straight on the talks about her September makeup-free face.

Speaking with the outlet, Pamela said, “I don’t think you should give me the credit of it being a stunt, because that’s not how I think. But the timing and the stars aligned.”

She went on to share the inspiration behind her bare-faced look, “I just thought I’m not competing with all these beautiful people, I felt like the monster, like a little kid in all these beautiful clothes and how lucky am I and I wanted to appreciate it from that point of view.”

She also revealed how she never expected that her looks would be appreciated that much, “I like that it resonated but it wasn’t my intention to…thinking everyone’s going to get into this thing,” she noted. “But as I noticed it was resonating, I thought, this is really great.[The beauty market] is full of false promises and false hope…accepting ourselves for who we are, it just feels necessary.”
