Queen Latifah Reveals Why She Would Love Dolly Parton To Appear On “The Equalizer”

No one, and I mean no one, can doubt that Dolly Parton is a musical legend who just keeps breaking boundaries.

She’s got her own inspired ice cream flavors, she’ll soon be helming a pet fashion show, she’s written a book with renowned writer James Patterson, and she’s working on a Broadway show that will be premiering within two year’s time, if all goes according to plan, that is.

There’s almost nothing Dolly Parton can’t master, and in the same way, Queen Latifah believes she’ll be just right for “The Equalizer.” See what she has to say.

Queen Latifah, 53, is looking forward to bringing a superstar who has been a big inspiration to her since childhood into the high action world of “The Equalizer.”

Queen Latifah Reveals Why She Would Love Dolly Parton To Appear On “The Equalizer”

With the double Hollywood strikes over, season 4 of “The Equalizer” has already started production and Latifah is seriously yearning to bring in Parton and watch her “kick butt” onset.

“I would love to get Dolly Parton on this show,” she told Entertainment Tonight in the interview published Thursday. “We came very close to being able to make it happen last year. So I don’t know if we’ll be able to do it this year, but I would love to get Dolly on.”

Working with Parton isn’t exactly wishful thinking, as the “Last Holiday” star worked with the 78-year-old on 2012’s “Joyful Noise.”

“We did a movie together called Joyful Noise, and she was just the most amazing person,” Latifah said of their time on set for the film. “She’s just a real down-to-earth, cool person who’s inspired me since I was a little girl…. she kicks butt, too. She’s just as funky as anybody. So I would love to get Dolly on here. I’ll just put it out there.”

“That’s my girl,” she added. “I just love her.”

The show premieres this Feb. 18, and I can already not wait to see if the “Jolene” songstress makes a guest appearance. Fingers crossed she would.
