R. Kelly Is Engaged With His Alleged Victim Joycelyn Savage

Savage isn’t giving up on her quest to prove R. Kelly innocent, despite all fingers pointing out that she’s one of Kelly’s victims, she claims it’s not true. Savage has always been vocal about how good Kelly is to her and her likes that love him.

In a letter sent to District Court Judge Ann Donnelly on June 13, right before Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison, Savage identified herself as Kelly’s fiancée and pleaded for leniency, adding that Kelly “is not the monster that the government has described him to be.”

“My name is Joycelyn Savage, and I’m Robert Kelly’s fiancé[e],” she wrote. “I’m writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be. My relationship with Robert is amazing. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We have a very special connection and are deeply in love. I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him.”

Savage also wrote that “it breaks my heart that the government has created a narrative that I’m a victim. I’m a grown woman, and can speak for myself which is why I wanted to provide this letter to the court.”

Despite Savage’s plea, Kelly was sentenced on June 29 to 30 years in prison for one charge of racketeering and eight counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits the transport of “any woman or girl” across state lines for any “immoral purpose.”

R. Kelly — What Joycelyn’s Parents Said About Her Engagement To Kelly

Savage who met the singer when she was just 18 years old, claimed her parents created the accusations against the Grammy winner out of retaliation for “money and scam” purposes because they “didn’t agree” with a music deal they had.

There came a time when there were reports of Savage finally speaking out and claiming to be assaulted by Kelly, later on, Kelly debunked the rumors saying, she wasn’t the one behind the account on the paid membership platform Patreon.

“It was me being delusional why would someone claim to love to keep me locked up like some damn animal,” she reportedly shared in one of her posts.

On her Instagram account, she has not posted about her engagement to Kelly, but she is not very active on the profile. Meanwhile, her parents have cast doubt on whether the proposal really ever happened.

They told TMZ Monday via their attorney that they found it “odd” Savage did not testify about the engagement under oath and instead “slipped” it into a letter to the court.
