Regé-Jean Page Is Now Tired Of Being Asked Whether He’ll Make A Comeback As the Epic Duke of Hastings in “Bridgerton’s” Season 3

During a recent red carpet interview with Variety, the actor, more widely recognized for playing Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in the hit Netflix series “Bridgerton”, quashed, in fact killed, any rumors of his return to the movie.

He also stated that he wouldn’t mind it if they recast his role in the movie whenever the writers deem it beneficial to his onscreen partner, played by Phoebe Dynevor.

“They’re free to do as they like,” Page told Variety at the premiere of his new Netflix spy thriller, “The Gray Man”. “Shonda [Rhimes] and I had a wonderful conversation at the end of season one. We were quite happy with how we stuck the landing on that one.”

Page also stood by his past statements that his character’s story truly came to an interesting and desirable end. “We did so well on that redemptive arc that people forget that Simon was kind of horrific. He was the best example of a Regency f*ckboy that any of us had come across,” Page continued. “And so, because we came around full circle so well, because we stuck that landing, you’re left with this great feeling. You really do have to be brave about ending stories like that.”

Apart from not looking forward to returning to the hit project, he’s also not watched the second season, which, though did not feature his character, did feature his character’s spouse. So basically, he knows nothing of what Daphne Bridgerton has been up to. “I haven’t caught up with it,” Page confessed.

Regé-Jean Page Calls Rumors Of A Possible Appearance in “Bridgerton’s” Third Season As False

When snaps of Page and his “Bridgerton” co-star, Jonathan Bailey, made it into the internet, rumors of his return to the regency-era romance naturally started soaring. Unfortunately, Page decided to nip it in the bud.

“(No, I’m not going back to the show btw – the papers made that one up.) But we had the best, and most stylish, catch-up I’ve had in a while over some truly excellent Italian coffee and sunshine ☕️.”
