Rihanna Steps Down As Savage x Fenty CEO As Company Pivots To A “Higher Level”

You cannot deny that Rihanna has made a fine job of Savage x Fenty during her time as the CEO of the company she co-founded. Like, how many companies get the billion dollar rating from Forbes?

However, as the company moves to “an even higher level,” Rihanna has seen it fit to step down from the leadership position and bring in someone she believes is capable of taking the company forward.

According to Vogue Business, Rihanna will be retaining her leadership role as executive chair.

Rihanna co-founded Savage x Fenty in 2018 as an inclusive lingerie brand, and this is put on the fore-front of their shows, as models of all sizes model the pieces on the runway.

Their first fashion show event took place the same year of its launch during New York Fashion Week. The second year also took place during New York Fashion Week and was featured in an Amazon documentary, “Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 1.” Rihanna, Big Sean, Halsey, Migos and more performed at the show.

“I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO,” the “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer said. “She is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”

“It’s a celebration of womanhood,” Rihanna told Vogue in 2018 about that year’s runway show. “I think it’s a shame women have to feel insecure or self-conscious about how their bodies look. They’ve been taught by society that only one thing works.”

“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Rihanna said in her statement to Vogue Business on Friday. “This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.”

Hilary Super also shared her excitement to be joining the team at the highly influential fashion company, writing, “The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”
