Riley Keough Set To Release Memoir She Co-wrote With Late Mother Lisa Marie Presley This Fall

Riley Keough wants to honor her mother’s legacy in new memoir she co-wrote with her, titled “From Here to the Great Unknown.”

Apart from co-writing the book, the ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’ star will also lend her voice talent to the audio book, which is set to feature “breathtaking vulnerable” recordings of her mother’s own voice.

Riley Keough Wants To Share Her Mom’s “Most Vulnerable And Most Honest” Story With Fans In New Memoir

Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir will be posthumously published on October 15 via Random House. It is meant to draw back the curtains on the woman who is more famously identified as Elvis Presley’s only child and reveal the person she was and the life she lived, and even the pains she felt.

The book’s official description reads, “Born to an American myth and raised in the wilds of Graceland, Lisa Marie Presley was never truly understood . . . until now.

Before her death in 2023, she’d been working on a raw, riveting, one-of-a-kind memoir for years, recording countless hours of breathtakingly vulnerable tape, which has finally been put on the page by her daughter, Riley Keough.”

For Keough, releasing this memoir and lending her voice to the audiobook version is something that’s brought her great joy. Her greatest hopes now is that when readers are done re-discovering Lisa Marie Presley anew, they will love her as much as she has done.

“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis’s daughter,” Keough said in a statement. “I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one. I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did.”

What Can Fans Expect From Lisa Marie Presley’s Upcoming Memoir

The memoir’s announcement came a day after the one-year anniversary of Lisa Marie’s January 12, 2023, death.

At the time, Random House released a statement teasing fans on what they will encounter through the pages of the book.

“Riley knew that it was time for Lisa Marie’s voice to be heard,” Random House added of the memoir. “She listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs at Graceland, just the two of them, a sanctuary from the chaos of her life. About Lisa Marie’s complicated relationship with her mother Priscilla. About growing up with the clicking cameras perpetually at the door. About her own wild love stories, and her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. About motherhood and the shattering loss of her son, Riley’s brother Benjamin Keough, to suicide.”
