He might be one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, but it doesn’t look like Robert Downey Jr’s career is going the way he would like.

In fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Hollywood star is quite concerned with his dizzy career report as his lately film, Dr. Dolittle, completely flopped with audiences. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to the latest edition of The National Enquirer, Robert Downey Jr. seems to feel a little embarrassed that his film went over like a lead balloon.

Yet, he is doing another reboot with the hopes that it will jump-start his post-Marvel career again. Sources say that Robert is looking to reprise Jimmy Stewart’s role as a former detective in a new reboot of the 1958 thriller, Vertigo.

One source close to the situation even put it this way, “Robert really want to establish a new career outside of the Marvel Comics Universe. He doesn’t want audiences just to come see him as a comic book hero. He was very disappointed people didn’t dig Dolittle, and he knows it’s risky to try another remake. But he’s big on taking chances.”

The insider went on to say that Robert is not worried about money, and that’s mostly because he’s worth an estimated $300 million dollars. Instead, he simply wants to do something meaningful so he can continue working in the industry.

What’s Next For Robert Downey Jr?

The tipster continued, “Robert is thankful for the riches Iron Man gave him, but except for his Sherlock Holmes films, he hasn’t had a lot of success lately. He knows many of the studios now want to remake classic films rather than take chances on new scripts, so he’s going with the slow. He hopes the Vertigo remake will be a monster hit – without the monsters, of course.”

So far Robert Downey Jr. himself has not made any comments about the matter, but we have a feeling we’ll be seeing him on the big screen in no time. Watch this space.
