Ryan Gosling Is Embracing His Kenergy In More Ways Than One

Okay, we might need a surgeon to separate Ryan Gosling from his onscreen character Ken. Never has a love between an actor and their character been this complete as the one Gosling feels for Ken, and he doesn’t even care that he’s a grown man.

Ryan Gosling – On How to Find Your Kenergy

Gosling’s kenergy is strong, is yours? Well, it could be if you just listen to this little piece of advice from a Ken who knows his stuff.

During a recent red carpet interview at Gosling’s home country – Canada, or Kenada, if you’re still wondering – the star was asked to explain how he was able to tap into that kenergy he won’t shut up about.

Looking serious, he replied, “It’s there the whole time. You got it, so strong. I can feel it right now. Look no further. You are enough.”

While Gosling’s sister was still trying to laugh it out and the bewildered interviewer was trying to make sense of this latest piece of advice, Gosling continued, “It’s like wifi—it’s there, you don’t know… Wait, do you know how it’s really there? I don’t! I mean, could you explain… wifi?”

When the reporter declared that he might be able to explain the technicalities behind wifi, Gosling charged him with helping to pinpoint the origin of kenergy, “And it might be affecting the bees, somehow? I’m not sure.”

However, don’t be fooled by his embracement of the Ken-lifestyle now to think that he was always ready to take on the part. According to the star, he doubted he could play Ken because he “only knew Ken from afar. I didn’t know Ken from within. I doubted my Ken-ergy. I didn’t see it.”

The transformation into the popular Ken doll came with its own sacrifices, and, of course, bleach. “I was living my life and the next thing I knew, I was bleaching my hair and shaving my legs and rollerblading on Venice Beach,” Gosling said at the Cannes film festival, which took place in April.

The “Barbie” movie will premiere in theaters July 21.
