See Beetlejuice Return In Sequel 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' Alongside The Countless DeadNew trailer for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ sees the poltergeist summoned back into the land of the living, and this time he’s come with a bigger plan and he’s no longer haunting just a family. Guess what? He’s got a whole town, and perhaps even the whole world, to play with. Uh-oh is right.

Trailer For ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Shows Jenna Ortega’s Astrid Summon the Ghost

You-know-who is back. No, I don’t mean Voldemort. I’m talking about the other one.

The Tim Burton-directed sequel is almost here, with Michael Keaton returning as the ghastly poltergeist that scares, jokes, and, if you can imagine it, even flirts.

Fans fell in love with the comedy when it dropped in 1988 and they’re already restless to see this sequel, which hits theaters on September 6.

The trailer opens with Ryder’s Lydia Deetz trying to explain her connection to the nefarious poltergeist to her daughter Astrid (yup, ‘Wednesday’s’ Jenna Ortega). Unfortunately, Astrid ends up saying the summoning words ‘Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice,’ despite Lydia’s warnings, and unleashes the troublemaker poltergeist on an unsuspecting world again.

The movie’s official synopsis tells us how “an unexpected family tragedy” brings “three generations of the Deetz family” back to Winter River, Connecticut, which, if you can remember, was where Beetlejuice was last awakened.

But Beetlejuice isn’t the only one on the loose this time, because when Lydia discovers a mysterious model of the town in the attic, the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.

Now the million dollar question is if the world of the living and the dead can co-exist, or if the portal must be closed to restore balance.

“With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem,” the synopsis adds.

Lydia Deetz’s stepmother Catherine O’Hara also returns in this bloodcurdling sequel that also sees the addition of new cast members, including Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Willem Dafoe, and the aforementioned Jenna Ortega.

According to Ortega, her ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ character Astrid is not “bright and sunny at all” so I guess we’re in a dark ride, again.

For crying out loud. I’m so tired of these lazy rehash’s. I Get it, Tim Burton is desperate. But this is just sad. I’m sorry but the original was never that good… this looks a lot worse. Please just stop this dreadful grinding into the ground of cinema. If you Can’t make good movies.., just accept it & step aside.
