Sherri Shepherd Tries to Fill Daytime Void

Sherri Shepherd Tries to Fill the Void Left in the Daytime TV ShowSherri Shepherd will soon start her self-titled daytime show following the end of some successful shows on TV.  After 19 fruitful seasons, The Ellen Show closed its doors last May 26, 2022. On the other hand, The Wendy Williams Show has come to an end when the host, Wendy Williams, faced an extreme health crisis. Since Williams’ health continued to go downhill, the production tapped one of the show’s guest hosts, Sherri Shepherd, to start another talk show and own the timeslot.

Though Williams was eager to be back on her daytime show, it would still be impossible according to sources. “Where’s she gonna go? It’s done. Logistically, it won’t work. Sherri has her time slots,” an insider told Page Six. As for her recent appearance in IG Live with Fat Joe, another insider revealed that Debmar-Mercury was not pleased with her interview as it shows that the “Think Like A Man” star was completely not with herself.

Sherri Shepherd Says She Will ‘Create Magic’ on TV

Having lost some of its successful shows, Shepherd assured the viewers to fill in the void left in the daytime TV world. Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson was approached to take over The Ellen Show’s timeslot. As the 40-year-old singer always includes music in her show, Shepherd will give other strategies that will encourage people to watch her show.

“Ellen DeGeneres is gone, and I love Kelly Clarkson because she’s naturally authentic, but people underestimate a standup comic and that’s where we come in. We create magic where there is none, and there is really nobody I think who can fill that void, but I’m here and that’s what I’m bringing,” the 55-year-old comedian told People.

Nick Cannon Refuses to Support Sherri Shepherd

When The Wendy Williams Show concluded, the production company Debmar-Mercury asked Nick Cannon to support Sherri Shepherd in her upcoming show. However, as a close friend of Wendy Williams, he rejected the idea. “Nick Cannon would not endorse her out of allegiance to Wendy,” an insider told Page Six.

As The Wendy Williams Show waved goodbye on air, the original host herself and her former husband, Kevin Hunter, weren’t pleased with the episode as Wendy Williams wasn’t invited to its finale. “It is the first time in the history of talk shows for this to be done, especially for a show that has been on for more than 10 years,” Hunter said.
