Should Madonna End Her Career After Life-Threatening illness?

Madonna was about to start her Celebration tour on July 15, but it was put on hold at the end of June because she was found unresponsive at home. She ended up desperately ill in ICU and she was placed on intubation.

While she was stabilized, fans wonder if she should just can her career and relax in her golden years.

Madonna: The Illness & Healing

Recently, the music icon’s manager, Guy Oseary, revealed that Madonna fell ill with a serious bacterial infection. Found unresponsive, she ended up being rushed to the ICU. It was a very scary experience for her family as she was intubated.

The details surrounding the severity of her medical condition were unclear at first. However, now we know that she has been improving since her hospitalization. Of course, her Celebration Tour was put in limbo for the time being. 

Since the initial panic over Madonna’s illness, stories emerged that she might have needed Narcan to help bring her around. But, not because of the use of opioids. It can be used for other life-threatening situations. Apparently, she felt a bit tired and unwell with a low-grade fever, and it might have been because of sepsis. 

Madonna At Home Uncertainty On Celebration Tour 

A recent report from Page Six suggested that Madonna’s hospital stay came to an end and she’s been discharged from the hospital. The legendary Queen of Pop was reportedly transported home by a private ambulance following her release. However, she took a big hit healthwise, and might not be up to starting her tour. This week, TMZ posted about it on Instagram, saying, “Madonna’s recovery is not going as quickly as she expected.” So, there’s uncertainty about the  64-year-old “Like a Virgin” hitmaker’s tour dates. 

Madonna, some fans feel, might still feel like she’s 25 inside. How many older people have said that in the past? Anyway, folks think that she held the crown in the entertainment industry for so long now, that perhaps she should retire. After all, health is everything. It’s not like she will be forgotten, after all. 

Canning Her Career?

Even some Madonna fans who looked forward to the tour seem to be able to understand if she cancels it. In the comments on Instagram, a lot of people felt that she should re-evaluate her career. One of them said, “Maybe she just needs to retire. She had one hell of a career.”
