Sons Of Anarchy Star Katey Sagal in Hospital After Car Accident

Per a report by TMZ, Katey Sagal, 67, was hit by a car while crossing the street and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the injury is not too serious and the actress is reportedly recovering in the hospital.

The incident happened on Thursday in Los Angeles while she was crossing the street as a pedestrian. The driver reportedly stopped to help Sagal before she was transported to the hospital.

Due to the lightness of her injuries, she is expected to leave the hospital the following day. The name of the driver of the car was not revealed in the accident report.

Katey Sagal is an actress best known for playing Peggy Bundy on “Married… with Children”, Leela on “Futurama”, Cate Hennessy on “8 Simple Rules”, Gemma Teller Morrow on the hit FX series “Sons of Anarchy” and Dr. Jones on “Shameless”.

She is currently married with three children and will be starring in the upcoming film “Tattered Hearts” as Harper Dutch.

Apart from her successful acting career, Sagal is also a singer-songwriter, working on songs such as “(You) Can’t Hurry the Harvest”, which was inspired by the painful memory of delivering a still-birth daughter at seven months. She also released an EP for the popular series “Sons of Anarchy”, which appeared on two U.S. charts.

Sagal’s most recent show ABC’s “Rebel” was canceled just after one season, prompting the actress to explain her shock of learning the decision to her fans on Instagram.

“The abrupt announcement that there would be no season 2 based on the response from four airings came as a shock and a heartbreak.” Sagal wrote in an Instagram post back in May. “Things take time to catch on. Rebel tells the story of a woman who speaks up for what is right, the show has heart and purpose, funny and tears, and we, the cast, are all scratching our heads at the reversal of support from ABC.”

“As Rebel would say, fight for what you want, make people listen, and in this case, if our show can find another, more suitable place to land, we will do the happy dance. If not, we gave it our all and made our voices heard, which is the message behind Rebel! Always Speak Up!!”

Sagal first gained widespread recognition for playing Peggy Bundy in the Fox series “Married… with Children”. The show ran from 1987 to 1997 and aired a total of 259 episodes. Sagal appeared in 246 episodes.
