With the way things are going, Jackass star Bam Magera could likely face some jail time following a judge’s ruling that Bam must stand trial for allegedly punching his brother Jess Magera this past weekend in their home near Philadelphia.—Per Associated Press.

The incident which was reported to the police by Jess’ girlfriend happened on Sunday after Bam saw a text message that suggested he needs help with his mental health treatment. Out of anger, Bam hit Jess so hard on his nose and his ear.

The blow was so severe that it ruptured Jess’ eardrum. After getting physical with Jess, Bam proceeded to keep on Jess’ girlfriend’s bedroom door, an action that caused her to call the cops. Bam didn’t stop there, he went on to send Jess a threatening note and threatened to shoot some of the family members.

Bam Margera — A Judge Ordered Bam To Go For Drug And Alcohol Screening

Bam pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges, including simple assault and making terroristic threats, luckily for Bam, prosecutors decided to drop just two out of his four counts of terroristic threats.

On Thursday, Bam was granted bail of $50,000 but Judge Judge Albert Iacocca insists that Bam would stand trial for the allegations and also asked Bam to go for drug and alcohol screening, telling him, “We want to make sure you’re safe, secure, and alive.”

The former tv show star told Judge Albert that he already underwent for drug and alcohol treatment earlier this year. He went on to reveal that he currently lives with ex-NBA star Larma Odom. When asked why he underwent drug and alcohol treatment, Bam said, “To see my son Phoenix, who’s 5.”

During the court proceedings, Jess said in his testimony, “I’m not trying to get him in trouble here. I just want him to get the help because I feel like this is our last chance.” He also added, “I don’t care about the money. My brother’s a good dude when he’s not messed up. I don’t think he would hurt a fly. It’s just when he’s been up for days, it’s scary.”

Bam Margera — Bam’s Attorney Michael Van Der Veen’s Statement

At first, Bam’s attorney Michael Van Der Veen tried to make little of the case by saying, “I don’t know what we’re doing here. This is a disagreement between two brothers on a Sunday morning over coffee,” his comment referenced the many times Bam and Jess fought on their tv show Jackass, but The Chester County magistrate reminded him that when the altercation went on, there was no camera no film crew on ground.—Per Associated Press.

The following day, after Judge Albert’s ruling on Thursday, Michael Van Der Veen told “PEOPLE” in a statement, “The preliminary hearing was important because we got two misdemeanors withdrawn and three held for court. Beyond that, we were able to get valuable testimony to build and support our defense in this case.”

He continued, “Judge Albert Michael Iacocca did a great job treating Mr. Margera just as he would anybody else. The ordering of a drug and alcohol evaluation is standard operating procedure in a case like this. We’re hopeful in the end the matter will stay out of the courts and remain the personal business of this family.”
