Famed as a talk show king, Steve Harvey faced repeated rumors that he died last year. And Harvey starts the New Year sparking concerns from his fans about his health.
Because the Family Feud host has become so well-known, some fans took the death reports seriously via the Sun.
The rumors about Steve dying actually began in March 2023. And the reports continue to falsely claim that Harvey died. But this month, the phrase “Steve Harvey dead” began trending again.
However, the comedian actually doesn’t suffer from health problems. And the hoax seemingly began in the spring when a Facebook post shared, “R.I.P Steve Harvey. At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (March 05, 2023), our beloved actor Steve Harvey passed away.”
Family Feud Host Faces Fake News
And in the wake of the fake Facebook post in March, fans discovered rumors claiming that Harvey died in July. However, the Family Feud host spoke out. And he reassured his fans that he felt fine, trying to make the fake death reports end.
But just two months later, “Steve Harvey dead” turned into a TikTok trend. However, Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell actually died. But the similar last names caused confusion on social media.
And most recently, a mean trend on TikTok involved users claiming a famous star died. Those users would then cover family members’ reactions, including Steve Harvey. But in November 2023, a fake report claimed the comedian died. And a hoax from a website claimed falsely, “At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (November 06, 2023), our beloved actor Steve Harvey passed away. Steve Harvey was born on January 17, 1957 in Welch. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Steve Harvey Fans Slam ‘Big Fat Lie’
However, no such Facebook post exists. And Harvey’s fans shared their anger at the cruel death hoaxes. For instance, one wrote on social media, “Steve Harvey is not dead. There is a huge hoax going on and it’s a big fat lie. Thanks Jesus for not taking him yet. We need him still here.”
In addition to hosting Family Feud, Harvey became known as the host of the Miss Universe show. His other achievements include The Steve Harvey Morning Show, The Steve Harvey Talk Show and Little Big Shots. And Steve also starred in films, such as Racing Stripes, Love Don’t Cost A Thing and You Got Served.
