Taylor Swift still holds a grudge against Kanye West. And the songstress proved it by throwing shade at the rapper during a recent concert. However, Taylor showed her sense of humor, laughing amid her sassy shade.
Find out how Swift managed to mock Kanye during her concert. And learn how their feud began. Get all the details below.
Taylor Swift Mocks Kanye West
Kanye West might want to put Taylor Swift’s Eras tour stops on his list of places to avoid. Because the songstress couldn’t resist surprising her fans at her recent Seattle show. And that surprise involved an acoustic rendition of her revenge song, reported People.
However, Taylor couldn’t hold back a gleeful giggle at choosing “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” as her surprise song. Inspired by her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Swift paused ahead of the lyric, “Here’s to you, ’cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do.” And the 33-year-old singer then started laughing.
But after her giggles, Swift confessed to the audience, “I can’t even say it with a straight face.” And she then returned to the chorus, “This is why we can’t have nice things!” The singer’s mother Andrea joined in the lyric “Here’s to my momma, had to listen to all this drama.”
Kanye West Started Taylor Swift Feud In 2009
The feud involving Taylor and Kanye dates back to 2009. After the songstress won for best female video at the VMAs, West interrupted her on stage. And he yelled that Beyoncé deserved the award instead of Swift. However, the rift didn’t end there.

And in 2016, West fueled the feud with his single “Famous.” The song included the lyric “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b*tch famous.” And that led into a war of words, with Kim Kardashian siding with Kanye at the time. (Kim later filed for divorce from West in February 2021.)
However, beyond teasing her feud with West, Swift delighted her fans with more musical surprises. For instance, the award-winning singer changed “Tis the Damn Season” in her Evermore section in order to perform “No Body, No Crime” with Haim. The latter joined the Eras Tour as an opening act for the Seattle show. And the concert even included a stage change to a woodsy landscape to highlight Taylor’s ninth studio album.
Police sirens opened “No Body, No Crime” before Swift and Haim rose from beneath the stage to offer their performance of the country ballad. And Haim turned to social media to share the excitement of their collaboration. “ERAS NIGHT ONE WAS A DREAM!!!! got to play no body no crime for the first time,” gushed Haim on Instagram.
