Taylor Swift’s Grammy acceptance speech included a surprise announcement, the April debut of her brand-new album titled The Tortured Poets Department. Instead, Swifties were expecting her to release Taylor’s version of her Reputation album.

Tonight Taylor Swift let the world know that she won her 13th Grammy, 13 being her lucky number. Next she spilled the dish about her new album, The Tortured Poets Department dropping on April 19, 2024.

Many on social media called her out for hijacking the Grammys to announce her own business, at the expense of the other nominees. Fans were also not impressed at how she completely ignored Celine Dion who presented her with her album of the year award.

In a surprising twist, many fans think that the album The Tortured Poets Department will be about her ex, the British actor Joe Alwyn. Why?

Because as commentators noted, her ex Joe Alwyn shared a group chat with his buddies Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott called, get this, The Tortured Mens Club. Yep, Taylor’s new album title reeks of her penchant for naming and shaming her exes.

One Swiftie wrote on X “apparently, joe and paul mescal’s whatsapp gc was called ‘the tortured mens club’ LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO.”

Nonetheless fans were convinced that her next album would be a remake of Reputation due to several hints. For example, several days ago, a post was unarchived on her Instagram.

Apparently, “The post was from when her original Reputation album was getting released and it said how there was three days to go. Three days from then is tonight, profile pictures to a black and white version. This is an iconic thing to do for the era. Reputation is fully black and white almost as a newspaper. This made fans go crazy. Not only this but her website “crashed.”

Also, her friends were dressed in black tonight another hint about Reputation. You’ve got to hand it to Taylor, she’s full of surprises.
