The Voice News – Final Blind Audition
Keegan Ferrell gave a great performance, singing and playing on the piano, with a strong and really emotional voice that made Clarkson and Shelton, whose teams are the only ones that haven’t yet filled up, to quickly turn around to try and snatch the contestant for their team.
Clarkson gave a great pitch, reminding Ferrell that she’s the one who knows, lives and breathes pop music, and has been doing so for 20 years. “This is my lane,” she further tells him. Clarkson would be the obvious choice for a coach since his angle is pop, and Shelton might have guessed that all too well, because his pitch took a different route.
The “God’s Country” singer said that he happens to be buddies with the guy who wrote and sang the song. Levine is currently no longer in the show, though he had previously participated as a coach in previous seasons.
“I want you to look for just a second at this coaching panel. Take note of who’s missing — and who’s in that chair,” the country star joked. “Now, I’m not saying Kelly Clarkson got Adam fired, but he’s gone, and she’s sitting there, OK? This network stands for ‘Nothing But Clarkson.’ If Maroon 5 inspires you, I don’t know if I would choose a coach that is their arch-nemesis.”
The “Stronger” singer defended herself by noting that she and Maroon 5 have toured together, but that doesn’t make much difference as Shelton’s arsenal was already packed.
“And then you got him fired,” the country singer said, whilst trying to look serious, “I’m willing to get fired for you, Keegan!”
The move worked and Ferrel went with Shelton, later telling the cameras that “He just knows how to bring artists to the next level!”
The Voice – Maroon 5’s Real Reason For Leaving The Show
Levine made an exit from The Voice in 2019 after starring in it for 16 seasons alongside his buddy Blake Shelton. He later explained that his decision to leave the show stemmed from his desire to spend time with his wife and young daughters, Dusty, 4 and Gio, 3.
“[I’m] able to stop in this moment to [be] with my new, young family and have the greatest time ever” he explained to Ellen DeGeneres months after his exit. “Now I’m just a stay-at-home dad. I just stay at home and do very little. It’s great… [I’m] obsessed. I know that’s a good thing because they’re my children, but that’s why I don’t do much because I love hanging out. I genuinely just adore them in a way I never knew I could adore any little human.”
