Vanessa Bryant's Reaction After Winning Kobe Bryant Crash Photos LawsuitVanessa Bryant is the widow of former NBA star Kobe Bryant, Vanessa lost her husband Kobe and her daughter Gianna (Gigi) Bryant in a fatal helicopter crash in 2020. Actually, the helicopter crash claimed nine lives including that of Chris Chester’s wife Sarah and daughter Payton. Two years after Kobe’s death, news that sheriff’s deputies and firefighters released the photos from the fatal crash which includes the former NBA’s lifeless body with his daughter Gianna, came out.

Vanessa filed a lawsuit against the sheriff’s deputies and firefighters who were responsible for the release of the gory images from the crash, the lawsuit is for invasion of privacy and causing emotional distress. The trial began on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, and lasted for two weeks. On Wednesday, August 24, Vanessa Bryant won the case after the Judge found sheriff’s deputies and firefighters guilty of the charges leveled against them.

Vanessa Bryant — Vanessa’s Reaction To The Judge’s Verdict

After the judge gave the verdict on the unauthorized release of Kobe Bryant helicopter crash photos, Vanessa, 40, broke down in tears, mouthed the word “thank you” to the judge before turning to hug her lawyer Luis Li. It was indeed an emotional moment for the now mother of three who said that when she saw the photos online, she had to sue the people responsible for the leak because she wanted to know why they did it. Obviously, Vanessa haven’t recovered from the pain of losing her husband and daughter in the crash, the photos made her re-live the pain all over again.

Shortly after her win, Vanessa took to her social media to express her satisfaction that “Justice” was served, she added pictures that featured her, her dead husband, and daughter, with the caption “All for you! I love you! JUSTICE for Kobe and Gigi!” Coincidentally, the verdict happened on the day set aside as “Kobe Bryant Day.”

According to Vanessa, when she first saw the helicopter crash photos online, she ran out of the house and cried, she said she felt like running down the block to scream. Vanessa also said she have been living in fear every day of her life since the fatal crash, and that she never wanted her children to see the gory photo, all she wanted to do was to protect her children

The Judge awarded Vanessa $16 million for damages and also gave Chris the sum of $15 million for damages too. The judge asked that the sheriff’s department pay Vanessa the sum of $2.5 million for emotional distress that she already suffered, $7.5 million for the one she would suffer in future, $1 million for the past, and $5 million for future suffering. While Chris was awarded the sum of $1.5 million from the sheriff’s office for past suffering, $7.5 million for the one he would suffer in the future, $1 million for past suffering caused by the fire department, and $5 million for future.

The little thing the judge compensated the sheriff’s deputies and firefighters who were responsible for the photo leak is stating that they weren’t fond of releasing photos of deceased people but pictures from accidents, and that they lack proper training policies.
