Why Did The Grand Ole Opry Give Reba McEntire 40 Corn Dogs?

The Voice coach Reba McEntire got quite a surprise this week.  The country music icon celebrated her 40th anniversary at the Grand Ole Opry with a star-studded party and special show, and then topped it off with 40 corn dogs. 

The Opry’s bizarre choice of edible bouquet left a few fans scratching their heads, but it turns out there’s a reason behind the strange gift.

Reba McEntire just joined The Voice as a coach in 2023 and has since appeared in four seasons.  But, she has been in the country music industry for DECADES. 

On January 16th she celebrated forty years as a Grand Ole Opry inductee, and the legendary venue pulled out all the stops.  Reba shared a hilarious video on Instagram of herself being presented backstage with a cake and a massive bouquet of hotdogs.  

Longtime fans of Reba McEntire know that the country singer has a corn dog obsession.  It has actually been documented in her own interviews dating all the way back to the 90’s. 

Just last year Reba went viral for a corndog scene in the sitcom “Happy Place” on NBC, there’s still memes and shirts out there to prove it.  

Reba Doesn’t Play About Her Corndogs

Reba McEntire plays a LOT of fairs and festivals during the summer, and there’s nothing like a deep-fried and greasy state fair corn dog.  

During an appearance on James Corden a few years ago, the country singer confessed that she has an official “corn dog fetcher” when she goes to play at fairs.  She and Corden also looked back on hilarious photos of her over the years that were taken while she was eating corndogs.  

At this point, frozen corn dogs should work out some sort of partnership with The Voice coach.
