Jada Pinkett Smith felt convinced that by dropping bombshells from her memoir in a PR blitz, she could turn the book into a success.

For instance, Jada spilled negative details about her husband Will Smith on her incessant round of talk shows and media.

However, it seems that Pinkett Smith’s campaign of negativity against Will didn’t prove as worthy of sales as she hoped.

And the backlash against Jada has increased since fans learned that she and Will lied about their supposedly intact marriage and hot relationship for years even after separating in 2016.

Celebrity memoirs have become an increasingly popular way for stars to profit. But to do so, these celebrities need to make the rounds of talk shows and media interviews. And to hype her memoir Worthy, Jada Pinkett Smith followed that formula.

However, Jada’s incessant revelations about her marriage to Will Smith and various aspects of her life have seemingly backfired. For instance, Showbiz 411 reported that her memoir Worthy began at the number four spot on Amazon’s best seller list. But the more Jada revealed, the lower her book ranked. 

For example, Worthy has dropped to number 2,700 in the Kindle version. And fans have responded with negative comments to her controversial comments about her relationship with Will. But Jada recently reacted.

Jada Pinkett Smith – Reacts To Backlash

Fans felt betrayed when Jada revealed that she and husband Will Smith hid the fact that they have lived separate lives since 2016. But Pinkett Smith reacted to the resulting backlash over faking her relationship with Will for so many years. “We’ve done it the best way that we needed to do it for us,” Jada insisted on Today.

But fans shared their outrage over Will and Jada faking a supposedly perfect marriage since 2016 amid their separation. And Pinkett Smith shared that fans “can feel betrayed and that’s OK.” But she added, “Life is messy and so is marriage.”

However, despite writing a tell-all memoir and spilling intimate details on her PR blitz, Jada then insisted, “Unfortunately, it’s not anybody’s business what’s going on in the most inner sanctum of our house. We can’t live for other people. People can be confused and people can be let down.”

And Jada then made a push for viewers to buy her book. “If you really let down and read the book – that’s what people need. People need context,” she claimed.

The shocking news about the lengthy secret separation came earlier this month. And Jada admitted that she and Will had secretly lived apart for more than seven years. But she explained, “By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

And fans felt shocked. In particular, some recalled how Will defended Jada from Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. And the seemingly devoted husband slapped Rock after the comedian joked about Pinkett Smith, saying, “Keep my wife’s name out your f—— mouth.” However, Jada and Will were separated at that time.
