Will Smith – To Make Peace With Chris Rock After Slap?

Chris Rock and Will Smith’s relationship (or lack of one) continues to make headlines months after that infamous slap scandal. And now an insider has weighed in. But the source offered a surprisingly optimistic prediction for the future via the Sun.

Eight months have passed with Smith and Rock maintaining a verbal silence. But Will “wants to make peace” with Chris, according to the insider. And that source, Smith’s former co-star Bai Ling, feels that Rock and Smith “understand each other.” As a result, Ling predicted they should “eventually become good friends.”

And after co-starring with Will in Wild Wild West, Bai believes that Smith has acquired humility. Because of what happened, Smith’s co-star feels he has started on the path to becoming a “better person.” But she also admitted that he erred by letting his anger overcome his impulse control.

Will Smith – Made a ‘Mistake,’ But He Became ‘Enlightened,’ Says Co-Star

And Ling summed up her views on Smith’s slap. “The mistake he made was not good. It needs to be recognized and changed. We all fall,” she added. “But it is a time to get up. We rethink and become more enlightened.”

However, the actress also feels that when Will makes his comeback, “he will be a much better person. He will have more power in humbleness and influence people. We have to forgive – we all have made mistakes.”

But thus far, Rock has maintained his distance. And Smith’s co-star noted that Will must deal with the Academy Awards ban in addition to his awkward relationship with Chris. However, Ling feels the ban doesn’t seem “that important.” Because despite the ban, Will “still can do his movies. As long as he can work he is fine. That is his concern. Most successful actors, it is not about fame or getting Academy Awards, it’s that they love what they do,” she added.

And over time, Ling feels that Rock and Smith will become closer. However, she also believes that it will take time. And she described the slap as “inappropriate.” But Smith’s co-star praised him as having “a very pure heart. And he really worked hard to treat his craft seriously and sincerely apologize,” added Ling.
