Will Smith -Reaches Out To Long-Time Buddy Tom Cruise

Amid an apology tour and a comeback movie, Will Smith hopes that life will get better after getting slammed over slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. As a result, Smith decided to reach out to a long-time friend. And he hoped that his buddy Tom Cruise would want to connect, an insider told Radar.

However, that hope got dashed. And even though Will has tried repeatedly, Tom hasn’t responded, according to the source. “Will has approached Tom several times, trying to reconnect,” revealed the insider. 

And Smith sought Cruise because he thought they could come up with a film co-starring the two long-time friends. Will reached out to ” see if they can hang out and brainstorm on some projects together,” added the source. “A solid movie with Tom would guarantee Will’s comeback, or so he thinks.”

Smith feels so determined to woo back Cruise that he made an offer to travel. However, Tom didn’t react, according to the insider. “Will has even offered to fly to Longon if that’s more convenient,” shared the source. “But Tom isn’t biting and doesn’t even write him back.”

However, Cruise, 60, does feel sympathetic towards Smith, 54. But that sympathy doesn’t mean Tom feels willing to risk his career or reputation. And the insider summed up the situation bluntly,

Tom will not “be stupid enough to put his neck on the line and be dragged down by association,” said the source. However, beyond Will making a scene at the Oscars, Cruise has other reasons for avoiding his pal. And the insider explained the situation.

“Tom is still very wary of any Hollywood friendships. He likes his reclusive lifestyle in the United Kingdom,” noted the source. And the insider admitted, “He doesn’t want to get sucked back into the Hollywood scene — especially by way of Will Smith. He’s still kryptonite.”
