Will Smith Will Not Be Cancelled: The Star Is Bouncing Back in Hollywood Following the Oscars Slap ControversyDid Someone Say Will Smith Is A legend? Will Smith is planning to make a big splashy comeback by self-producing the “I Am Legend” sequel, following his viral moment in March when he slapped comedian Chris Rock in what was termed “the slap heard around the world”.

However, after receiving bans from the Academy Awards and stepping down as one of the organization’s voting members, Will Smith is not letting it drag him down.

His upcoming movie with Netflix may have been cancelled in a wave of cutbacks, but that’s not a big deal, because Will Smith is deciding to take matters into his own hands.

Will Smith – To Return After Taking Time Off From The Limelight With A Sequel To His 2007 Movie “I Am Legend”

The “I Am Legend” sequel is being produced by Will Smith via his company Westbrook Media.

“The script is being written mentioning his character and as yet Will remains attached to the project,” an insider told the Sun about ongoing plans for the hit movie sequel. “The concept is still to be signed off by Warner Brothers, but there has been no indication that Will is off the project.”

“Obviously he is the producer of the film and his production company is in charge while the development continues. And Will himself is undergoing therapy and taking time away from the limelight.” The sequel to the dystopian movie will see the “I, Robot” star return to his role as Robert Neville, as he tries to find a way to cure the zombie apocalypse that’s taken over New York.

The Movie, directed by veteran director Francis Lawrence, focuses on the story of the scientist and the last human survivor of a plague.

In the film, Will’s character seeks to find a cure using his own immune blood. Per sources close to the project, Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, who adapted  Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel into the first film, will include Richard’s character in the script.
