Chris Rock Doesn’t Care About Jada Pinkett Smith’s ‘Plea’ For Reconciliation

Chris Rock Doesn't Care About Jada Pinkett Smith's 'Plea' For Reconciliation

Like I pointed out some time ago, this Chris Rock vs Will Smith Oscars slap saga ain’t ending anytime soon, something must trigger it and bring it back to life, either it was used as a reference or someone who has been silent on the matter since it began, suddenly decides to break his/her silence on it, thereby resurrecting the story all over again. Be that as it may, this is never going down in a jiffy.

Speaking on someone who has been silent on the slapping issue since the day the slap occurred, Jada Pinkett Smith finally broke her silence on the Oscars slap on the June 1 episode of Red Table Talk. She began by addressing her receding hair condition alopecia, and moved over to the Oscars slap, saying she wish the two intelligent individuals to reconcile.

“This is a really important ‘Red Table Talk’ on alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories,” Pinkett Smith said. “I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is.”

Pinkett Smith continued, “Now, about Oscar night. My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. The state of the world today, we need them both. And we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

Chris Rock – Not The Least Concerned About Jada’s Reconciliation Plea

A source has revealed that Chris is paying no attention to Jada’s “plea” to have Will and Chris reconcile. “He’s not concerned with the Smiths at the moment,” the source says. “He’s touring and he’s preparing for a comedy special.”

The source adds that Chris is the most genuine person ever, nothing he does is calculated or phony, and he is not caught up in the Hollywood scene — he is focusing on himself.

Jada previously acknowledged the incident in a subtle, shorter manner, posting a quote on Instagram that read, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.” A different source revealed that Jada “was glad that Will stood up for her” and that she “was hurt by Chris’ remark.”

Chris, who declined to press charges that night, has yet to officially address the incident. However, he has made passing jokes about the slap during different stops on his stand-up tour.

What Chris Rock’s Mom Had To Say About The Oscars Slap

On April 22, Chris Rock’s mother Rose Rock, visited South Carolina station WIS-TV’s Soda City Live and conveyed her thoughts on Will Smith’s Oscars slap saying, “When Will slapped Chris, he slapped all of us, but he really slapped me,” she said. “Because when you hurt my child, you hurt me.”

Rose Rock, 77 pointed out that she had “never met” Will before the incident and initially believed that it was a staged event “until he started with the obscenities.”

This incident took place at the March 27 awards ceremony, where Will slapped Chris after the comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her hairstyle. When the “King Richard” actor returned to his seat, he repeatedly shouted that Chris needed to “keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth.”

Although Will Smith has since made a public apology to Chris Rock through his Instagram and also resigned himself from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Will received a 10-year ban from attending all Academy events for his actions.
