Taking notes during a court case might seem sort of, well, boring. But when Johnny Depp faced off against Amber Heard, even the courtroom stenographer felt fascinated. However, that court reporter, Judy Bellinger, has now spilled some details. And she shared that she observed some jurors battling the desire to take a nap at intervals throughout the trial, which lasted for six weeks, per Yahoo.

The Fairfax County, Virginia, jury included two women and five men. And while Bellinger didn’t name specific individuals or even genders, the courthouse stenographer did share her observations. (Per the judge’s ruling, the names of the jurors will remain sealed for a minimum of 12 months.) Some of the jurors actually fell asleep at various stages of the trial, according to Judy. 

Dubbed a “rock star” for her performance during the trial by Judge Penny Azcarate, Bellinger recalled the scenarios. “A few jurors were dozing off,” said the court reporter. “And it was tough.” Judy recalled lengthy video depositions. As a result, the jurors sat through it all. But “all of a sudden I’d see their head drop,” she said of the sleepy jurors.

At the end of the trial, jurors (both awake ones and sleepy ones) ruled that Amber Heard defamed Johnny Depp in her essay about domestic abuse. However, in response to Amber’s counter-lawsuit, she received an award of $2 million in damages. Heard now plans to work on appealing the verdicts.

As a result of fan support, Depp focused his first TikTok post on expressing his appreciation, reported E News. Johnny posted a video clip filmed during his court war with Heard. “To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters,” wrote Depp. “We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together.” And he united with his fans, adding, “We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers. So, thank you.”
