Willie Nelson Opens Up About What Keeps Him Alive

Nelson reveals that he started making music at a very young age. Now, at 92, Wilson says he has been making music for 70 years and he has no intention of slowing down now.

Wilson’s 78th album was released this past November entitled, Workin’ Man: Willie Sings Merle. Willie’s album, Oh What A Beautiful World, was released in April and is up for a Grammy in 2026.

Willie says its a family affair and reveals that his son, “Lukas Nelson, is also nominated in the Best Traditional Country Album category for his album American Romance.” In a recent article with The New Yorker, Nelson discussed his health and what keeps him alive now that he is has reached this ripe old age.

Cancelations Fuel Rumors

Fans have been very concerned this past year as Nelson canceled several dates on this 2025 tour including Syracuse, New York, which he had to canceled on doctors orders. “Singing for an hour is good for you,” and Wilson says this is what keeps him going.

Willie’s illness has lead to a lot of rumor that drastically overstated his death. Some rumors included death bed photo in their overly exaggerated claims.

Willie Nelson’s Epic Response To Death Rumors

As the old saying goes, there are two things you have to do in life, die and pay taxes. Nelson is going to die one of these days, but that day has not happened yet.

Nelson’s wife joined in on the comments about his death as well. She says that at one point, Nelson did need around the clock care. There was even a photo that went viral showing Nelson in a hospital bed hooked up to all kinds of machines.

Nelson, being the iconic performer that he is, responded in an epic, if not hilarious way. Nelson chose to have a photoshoot on the couch with some very interesting poses. One with his eyes closed going along with the death look.

A couple of more poses having him turning his head toward the camera. In the last photo he has a “death stare” with the caption, “If you believe those AI death stories one more time…,”

Fans then discussed how bad Facebook is for having these AI posts. These posts are simply becoming to much of the norm on social media.

According to one source who opened up to The National Enquirer , “Willie doesn’t get rattled by much, but these death rumors bother him. They spread so fast and then people from all over were calling in a panic — it was upsetting for him.”
