“All My Children” alum Daniel Cosgrove has landed a guest role in CBS’s American police procedural drama television series “Blue Bloods.” He will appear on the show’s back-to-back episodes 15 and 16 on May 14 for its season finale.
“Blue Bloods” will end with fewer episodes due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on its production. CBS has announced episode 15, “The End,” will air an hour earlier than usual at 9 pm ET/PT to be followed by episode 16, “Justifies the Means.”
All My Children Star Headed To Primetime
CBS has confirmed Daniel Cosgrove will appear on both episodes as Det. Felix Evans alongside other guest stars, including Gloria Reuben as Special Agent Rachel Weber, Annabella Sciorra as M.E. Faith Marconi, Shannon Wallace as Tyce Dickson, Shane Patrick Kearns as Max Fagan, and Jeremy Crutchley as Kenny Cook.
Aside from being famous as Scott Chandler on the soap “All My Children,” Cosgrove is also known for portraying Bill Lewis on “Guiding Light,” Chris Hughes on “As the World Turns,” and Aiden Jennings on “Days of Our Lives.”
Airing For More Than A Decade
“Blue Bloods” is a hit CBS series that has been on the air since September 2010. It is a drama of a multi-generation family of cops known as the Reagan family, an Irish-American Catholic family who is dedicated to New York City law enforcement. The show’s lead star Tom Selleck is a New York City Police Commissioner. Other original cast members that have been in the series for the whole eleven seasons include Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou.
CBS released the official description for episode 15 which reads: “Shockwaves ripple through the Reagan family when Danny discovers that their newest family member, Joe Hill (Will Hochman), is working undercover for the ATF to bring down a gunrunning organization in the first part of the two-hour 11th season finale of BLUE BLOODS.”

Episode 15 was written by Siobhan Byrne O’Connor & Kevin Riley, and it was directed by Alex Zakrzewski while episode 16 was written by Ian Biederman & Kevin Wade, who also did the Teleplay, and was directed by David Barrett,
Episode 16’s official plot reads: “The Reagans band together to prevent Joe Hill from being killed in the line of duty like his father when they fear Joe’s cover has been blown within the gunrunning outfit he’s helping the ATF bring down in the second part of the two-hour 11th season finale of BLUE BLOODS.”
With CBS wrapping up the series’ current season while cutting episodes, viewers have been concerned the show might be canceled for 2022. However, the network officially announced last month the series has been renewed for its 12th season. The upcoming season is scheduled to air later this year until the first half of the year 2022.
