She played Hayley Santos on All My Children and she and her husband Mark Consuelos, who played Matéo Santos are planning a primetime reboot of the sudser that had a lot of life left in it when it left the airwaves.

She told EW.com about her generation of the cast, “we would be the parents, and this show is really more about the children of Pine Valley. It’s a darker look at things, and I’m very excited about it.”

“It was pitched to us, and we were like, ‘We will absolutely produce this. And we want to be a part of it,’” she said. “Immediately, we called [Maria’s portrayer, Eva LaRue], all of our friends, and we started saying, ‘Just be at the ready. Get ready.’”

All My Children Spoilers -AMC Was A Standout Soap Opera

Eva LaRue was last seen on the CBS sudser The Young and the Restless as Celeste Rosales. Many daytime fans were hoping she would become a regular but so far that hasn’t happened. She has appeared in a handful of episodes, mostly being a mom to the Rosales clan that includes Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).

She did have a semi-storyline of her own involving the kids’ deadbeat dad. But that went nowhere.

Many fans were also hoping for a romance between Celeste and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in Genoa City, Wisconsin. That also did not transpire despite several teases that a relationship could transpire.

So if the incomparable LaRue, who shared earlier with fans that she had contracted coronavirus, is not added to the cast of Y&R let’s hope that she finds a home on AMC.
