All My Children Star Michelle Trachtenberg Passes Away At 39

Some sad news in the world of soaps. According to an ABC News report, All My Children (AMC) alum Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Lily Benton Montgomery, has died at 39 years old.

Police sources note Trachtenberg was found dead by her mother in her NYC apartment in the early hours of Wednesday, February 26.

As per the report, a source told ABC News that the actress had recently had a liver transplant and might have been experiencing complications. With that said, an autopsy by the New York City medical examiner will be conducted.

Michelle Trachtenberg Legacy

Trachtenberg, a NYC native, was born on October 11, 1985. The actress landed her first “acting gig” at the age of 3, in a Wisk detergent commercial.

Five years later, she scored her AMC role at the age of 8 and was with the soap from 1993 to 1996. The actress played the AMC character, while also, on Nickolodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete.

Still, even after leaving the soap, Trachtenberg starred in some films like Inspector Gadget and Harriet the Spy.

She would end up reuniting with ex-AMC colleague Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) for the sci-fi hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 2000 to 2003. The actress played Buffy’s younger sister, Dawn Summers, and participated in over 30 episodes.

In addition, Trachtenberg worked on the comedy flick, 17 Again, starring Zac Efron and Matthew Perry comedy 17 Again.

She also had a recurring role on the HBO drama Six Feet Under, and a run on Gossip Girl, playing Georgina Sparks, a manipulative socialite who happened to be the rival of Serena van der Woodsen, Blake Lively’s character.

Michelle Trachtenberg was quite active on social media, and just recently posted a number of ‘throwback’ pictures. Her last post was about a week ago, and her bio states, “This is all make believe, but it’s my job to make them believe. Also, I love Unicorns.”
