Slezak earned six Emmy’s during her time with the soap opera that went off the air in 2012 and had a online revival in 2013.

Slezak’s father is the late Walter Slezak, a Tony-winning actor who made an appearance on One Life To Live.

According to People, last summer Slezak shared her condolences following the death of her OLTL costar Andrea Evans who died of cancer in July 2023 at 66. Slezak and Evans’ characters were half-sisters on the soap.

At the time Slezak wrote on her website: “Andrea and I worked together for so long. On her first day at work, she was living one block away from me and I walked her to work. She was just a child — never been to N.Y.C. — so sweet and kind and loving. Amazing that she played such a complicated, confused and selfish character so well.”

Fans were quick to leave their condolences to Erika on social media with one fan writing “Sending my condolences to Erika Slezak and her family on the loss of her daughter. Praying for them that they have the space and support they need at this time.”
