One Life To Live’s Jennifer Harmon Dead At Age 82

Some sad news to relay for One Life to Live (OLTL) fans, as Jennifer Harmon, who played Cathy Craig Lord, has passed away at the age of 82.

According to reports, she died at home in New York on Saturday, May 9. More details on this story below.

Jennifer Harmon’s Soap Legacy

Harmon was born in Pasadena, California, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The actress had a nice career on Broadway, but is best known for her time in the land of soaps. Her daytime drama debut took place in 1974 on the NBC soap,

How to Survive a Marriage, where she played Chris, an alcoholic divorcee. She would exit that show a year later, and enter OLTL, playing Cathy Craig Lord recast.

Harmon exited the soap in 1978 when her character’s marriage ended. With that said, Harmon was nominated for a Daytime Emmy award in the Outstanding Lead Actress category the year she left the soap.

In 1991, the actress returned to OLTL to play a different role, ironically this time it was as a lawyer, representing Cathy’s long-time rival, Viki Lord (Erika Slezak).

Harmon also had a role on Guiding Light that same year, playing Jean Weatherhill, in a pivotal arc for the soap.

In addition, Harmon was on Another World as Judge Trullinger, and made her last daytime drama appearance in 1995, playing Lucretia Jones on Loving.

Other Credits

As mentioned above, Harmon was on Broadway, participating in over 20 productions, but also appeared on many prime-time shows.

In 1979, she played a secretary in the hit iconic drama, Dallas, and had guest spots on other shows like The Good Wife, Rescue Me, Law & Order, St. Elsewhere, and Oz – just to name a few!

Lastly, from 1974 to 1982, Harmon was in 21 episodes of CBS Radio’s “Mystery Theater”.
