“All My Children” was one of the longest-running soap operas on American Television. If there’s one character who’s known for her role in the show, it’s Susan Lucci. She’s been with the sudser as Erica Kane for more than 40 years. Her character was with the show from 1970 until 2011.
Recently, the actress revealed that she’d be more than happy and willing to be part of the show if “All My Children” ever gets a reboot.
Lucci has been vocal about her disappointment when the soap was canceled. But just like all the other fans out there, she’s also hoping for a revival. And when that happens, she’ll be interested in reprising the role that skyrocketed her career.
Lucci Still Hopeful For A Reboot
In a previous interview with Yahoo!, she said, “There is some conversation about a way to do it. We’ll see. I mean, we don’t know.” The show was briefly revived in 2013 and aired on The Online Network, but Lucci was not involved in that project.”
“Reboots are everywhere. Fans are clamoring for that. Certainly, I will always listen and it’s never ruled out. I love the character so much,” the daytime legend told Access Daily, per Dan’s Papers.
ABC Boss Suggests Possibility of a Revival
Even the ABC Entertainment President, Karey Burke, hinted of a possible comeback.
While at the Television Critics Association Event back in February, Burke said “There might be some conversation about that. There might be.”
This was her answer in response to a question about the possibility of bringing back “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.”
The Journey of All My Children
“All My Children” debuted from 1970 until 2011 on ABC. It was revived by The Online Network from April to September 2013 via, Hulu, Hulu Plus, and iTunes. The show was created by Agnes Nixon and was the first new network daytime drama to air in the 1970s. It started as a half-hour per installment length and then became a full hour format that ran for one week.
