Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Is Brian Datillo Out For Good?

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that fans will soon be forced to say good-bye to yet another legend from Salem. As a matter of fact, actor Bryan R. Datillo, who plays Lucas on the soap, has hinted that his days might be numbered on the highly rated daytime television show Days of Our Lives. He’s been on the soap for well over two decades.

Bryan hinted on Twitter that he’s ready to throw in the towel. He told his fans in a cryptic message, “Twenty-five years. Two months. Twelve days. And four hours. Good run. Thanks to my Days of Our Lives family and friends. Enjoy Lucas while you can.”

Bryan joined the soap back in 1993 as Katie’s son. Since then, he’s been on-again, off-again on the soap but came back in 2011 to reprise his role. Now, as far as what’s next for Lucas, no one knows for sure. Days of Our Lives doesn’t comment on the departure of its actors or their contracts for that matter. Should Bryan leave though, there is a possibility that the show’s producers might recast his character.

In the meantime, fans don’t have a reason to be worried yet. Because of the show’s accelerated production schedule, they can still expect to see Bryan in episodes for the remainder of the year. Should Bryan leave the show, an announcement will be made one way or another. Until then, fingers crossed that he reconsiders his decision and stays!

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on the NBC network. Check your local listings for times.
