Days of Our Lives comings and goings previously teased many returns in winter 2020 to Salem. In a promo clip that was unveiled at the 2020 Day of Days event, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) comes to Salem for a visit. In a surprise development, it turns out we are going to see Sonny Kiriakis after all! However, you’ve never seen actor Freddie Smith look like this on DOOL.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Winter Promo Teased Massive Returns

DOOL comings and goings reveal that each year, fans and media personnel go to Day of Days. They always come out of the event with spoilers galore and lots of juicy tidbits. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual event would not happen in its usual Los Angeles spot. Instead, the cast and crew came to viewers’ living rooms!

Just like each year, Day of Days released the winter promo and it is usually crammed full of sizzling storylines, shocking returns, and jawdropping scenes. It confirmed the returns of Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), Joey Johnson (James Lastovic), Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), Ciara Brady Wilson (Victoria Konefal), and many others. Of course, one other character that was seen in the winter promo is none other than fan-favorite Will Horton. (Chandler Massey)

In that winter promo, Will Horton was seen returning to Salem and surprising Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) with a hug. Sonny Kiriakis was nowhere in the promo clip. We brought you the news that actor Freddie Smith and his girlfriend were moving to Florida after being written off the soap. We also speculated last month that Freddie was probably still in Florida while Chandler filmed a few scenes in Los Angeles.

The actor previously explained that the timing was all wrong for him to come back. He had already moved from California to Florida, not enough warning was given and Smith didn’t want to fly hundreds of miles during a pandemic just for one tiny scene.

Days of Our Lives comings and goings reveal that we were right about that, but we didn’t plan on the soap making an “appearance twist.” It is true that Will is in Salem while Sonny stayed behind in Arizona, the actor confirmed on his YouTube channel. If we learned anything from COVID 2020, it’s that technology allows you to be “here” without actually having to be in the same room (or the same state).

It is confirmed that on December 30, 2020, Will and Sonny will find a way to connect during the holidays. They are not going to let a little thing like distance keep them apart! Sonny will Zoom into Salem so he can see and talk to Will. That’s right, Freddie Smith won’t be in Los Angeles, on the soap or even in the same state. However, we are still going to be able to see “Wilson” together.
