Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Stephen Nichols and Jen Lilley Say Good-Bye

Days of Our Lives comings and goings indicate that two fan favorites are leaving Salem. But as many daytime television viewers already know, no one really ever says good-bye, especially in the soap world.

Either way, actors Stephen Nichols and Jen Lilley are taking a break for now, as they plan on exiting the soap in the coming weeks.

According to Soaps in Depth, fan favorite Stephen will soon be retiring from his character of Steve. He first took on the role back in 1985 before taking a break to play Skylar on Santa Barbara, Stefan on General Hospital and Tucker on The Young and the Restless.

He told the publication, “I’ve been in this business long enough to understand the rotation of stories, and I get that we can’t always be at the forefront. There are still years of Steve and Kayla’s story left to be told. I hope we get to tell that story.”

Meanwhile, Jen recently wrapped up her story arc when Theresa left Salem with her son Tate. AS far as what’s in store for the future, Jen admits that she doesn’t know, but adds that she will be back in a heartbeat, the moment someone makes the call. She said, “I’m so glad it worked out the way it did. I will come back for as many arcs as they’ll have me.”
