As fans know, Valerie is the mother of Eli Grant (Lamon Archey). She came to Salem when her son came to town. Eventually, it was revealed that Valerie hid his biological father’s identity. By the time Eli found David Banning, he was already dead. The character of David was played by several actors over the years. The last time he appeared on screen, Gregg Marx portrayed the role.

Eventually, Valerie started a romance with Abe Carver (James Reynolds). However, she ended up leaving to take a job in Washington, D.C.

There is no indication of how long Valerie will stay in Salem. Chances are, it’s just a temporary visit. However, Valerie was a powerful and compassionate character. She’s made her fair share of mistakes, but never with malicious intentions. It would be wonderful if the soap would bring her back full-time. However, we will have to wait and see what happens with her character.
