NBC Days of Our Lives is already heading back at work after production was shut down last week. Everything came to a halt due to a positive COVID-19 test and filming was not supposed to resume for two weeks. However, everything seems to be okay now and they have been given the green light to get back to work. Keep reading to get the details.
Days Of Our Lives – Positive COVID-19 Test
As part of the new protocol for DOOL and other productions, everyone on the cast and crew must get tested for COVID-19 on a regular basis. The soap went back into production on September 1 and this is the first time they have been forced to shut down because of a positive test result.
DOOL Spoilers – Back At Work Already
Now, the reason why it was reported that the soap would be shut down for two weeks is that that is the standard quarantine time frame. Possible reasons for them going back to work a week in advance include the test being a false positive or the person who had COVID-19 might already be over the illness, which a negative test result would indicate. It’s also possible that production was already shut down and we just didn’t hear about it until a week later.
Days Of Our Lives – New Safety Protocol
Days of Our Lives and other soaps have certain rules and guidelines they must follow to keep the cameras rolling. In addition to regular testing, the cast and crew wear masks and practice social distancing. Makeup and hair brushes are separated and put in a sealed plastic bag away from those used on other actors. They also go through temperature checks.
Days Of Our Lives – Lauren Koslow On Set
Actress Lauren Koslow, who plays Kate Roberts DiMera posted on Instagram that she was back on set. She wrote,
“Stepping into Monday in @aliceandolivia black velvet Stay strong ‘Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.’ – Maya Angelou”
Even though filming was put on hold for a week, it was previously confirmed that it would not affect the viewing schedule. It would take a shutdown of longer for it to impact the episodes airing on NBC. In any case, we are just glad that everyone is healthy and safe.
