Days Of Our Lives: Abe Carver (James Reynolds) Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease that before Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) goes off to prison, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) will make a grand gesture! Abe is now legally Lani’s stepfather, having married her mother, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) so he might formally adopt her as his daughter in future DOOL episodes!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Lani Price’s Guilt Was Eating Her Alive

Lani’s guilt was eating her alive with her mother covering for her and taking the blame for killing TR Coates (William Christian); his ghost was haunting her during Abe and Paulina’s wedding! Lani couldn’t keep the terrible secret any longer, even though her husband, Detective Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) had even told her to do so. Obviously, Eli might have thought that there was some way to exonerate Paulina or he wouldn’t have kept the deadly secret with Lani.

But instead, Lani confessed the whole thing at Abe and Paulina’s wedding, to the shock of all the guests who were sworn to secrecy. But Lani didn’t want that – she had killed an unarmed man and she convinced Eli to bring her to the station in cuffs like any other criminal!

DOOL Spoilers – Most Thought Lani Grant Had Done The World A Favor

Most of Lani’s family and friends thought Lani had done the world a favor by taking out the abusive and lying man; Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) even said so! Days of Our Lives spoilers show Coates was a danger and a public menace, and he almost had Paulina convinced he’d really changed and she had been ready to marry him. Viewers will remember that a family secret surrounding Lani’s parentage was kept for years and she was raised by her aunt, Coates had been so dangerous! Eli had been in a coma for several months and  nearly died after Coates shot him, so all Lani could think about was killing Coates before Coates could kill Paulina!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – There Is Room To Work A Plea Deal

There would be room to work a plea deal, since there would have been mitigating circumstances; Coates was ready to hit Paulina with Abe unconscious on the floor. For all Lani knew, having not had time to check Abe, he could have been dead and Coates ready to kill Paulina and Lani both! That could have at least been reduced from first degree murder down to manslaughter, or even possibly something less; not perfect, but better than life in prison or a death sentence!

DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) will be ready for a win, so she may not be willing to plea deal down the ladder of charges. Abe and Paulina will have to fight for Lani when Trask pulls something sneaky to make sure that she gets a big win!

DOOL Spoilers – Abe Carver’s Grand Gesture

There’s a good chance that Abe’s grand gesture to Lani will be to formally adopt her as his daughter since he’s already her stepdad anyway. He’ll want to do something substantial before she gets hauled away, apparently to a prison far from Salem and Eli and the twins move to be close to her. This way she will have a real legal father although she’s always thought of him as dad anyway, and he of her as his daughter. It appears that they may not see each other for a long, long time, so this is a perfect show of love!
