She tells Chad that she is keeping her baby no matter what and Abigail can’t make her get an abortion. Chad knows that it is Gwen’s choice and not Abigail’s. So, he accepts her decision and tells his wife that he will support this new baby.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Abigail doesn’t take Chad’s statement very well. In fact, she will accuse him of taking Gwen’s side and choosing the unborn baby over his other two children. Of course, viewers know that this isn’t what’s going on at all. Chad can’t force a woman to get an abortion just because it’s better for his marriage. He also knows that even if he could get Gwen to agree, it would be immoral.

Flynn spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the pregnancy storyline and Abigail’s reaction. He explained that Abigail’s mental illness is playing a huge part in how she’s acting right now.

“He’s not choosing Gwen; he’s choosing to own a mistake and accept any repercussions that come from that. It’s a baby out of spite [rather than love] and although I have to be there for the child, I am not going to be there for you [Gwen] type of thing. [Abigail] just sees it as Chad taking Gwen’s side, or choosing Gwen’s child over their children. Dealing with someone who has struggled with mental illness, over time, it’s almost forced him to make more moral decisions in situations like this.”
